Kyaukme is located on the main road from Mandalay to Lashio in Shan State of Eastern Myanmar. It is an unusually busy town with a population close to 200,000 people. Historically, Kyaukme has been the main trading centre for tea. It is surrounded by tea plantations and beautiful Palaung villages.
Now, Kyaukme is a bustling town as it is located in a strategic trading route between Mandalay and Muse (border town with China).
